Biography
Yujin Chen is a singer-songwriter, music producer, sound designer, and audio programmer from China. With extensive music writing and production skills and various on-stage performance experiences as a singer, Yujin began her music journey by publishing her music on the Chinese Internet at the age of 13 and has gained over 100k follower in social media since then. In 2019, she became more deeply involved in the music industry by being a signed to China Younger Culture LLC as an artist and was selected to participated in China’s largest idol program “CHUANG 2020” as a contestant, gaining an even larger following.

From 2020, Yujin started pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Berklee College of Music, transferring from the University of Nottingham, where she was majoring in Economics. At Berklee, she is double-majoring in Electronic Production and Design , and Contemporary Writing and Production , strengthening her composing and producing skills and broadening her skill set to include sound design, interactive music implementation, audio programming, and audio related scientific research.
Yujin creates, arranges, produces, and performs her original music in a wide variety of genres – Pop, Rock, Electronic, EDM, Acoustic. She is proficient in the use of DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Ableton Live to realize her productions. Yujin has experience as a music director and supervisor, and she has recently organized, rehearsed, and directed her Berklee major concert – Eternal Summer, which has received a significant internet attention with more than two million views.
Furthermore, Yujin has expertise in sound design and audio programming and has created plug-ins, applications, and live performance systems in Csound, JUCE and MaxMSP. She is proficient in JavaScript, HTML, Processing, Python, C, and C++ programming languages which she has used to develop the “CyberSynth” plug-in using Csound Cabbage, and create an FFT-based “Spectral Shuffler” application in JUCE with C++ and Python. In game audio, Yujin programs in Unity, Wwise, and uses these tools to design complex game scenes, and implement interactive and immersive audio experiences.
At Berklee, Yujin has contributed to a number of major department-sponsored, nationally featured projects. She was a core programmer and developer on Nona Hendryx’s Dream Machine VR Experience, and she was a core designer and developer for the TeleAbsence sound installation project, in collaboration with the MIT Media Lab.
