About Me

Yujin Chen is a singer-songwriter, music producer, and audio programmer. She began her college journey at the University of Nottingham, majoring in Economics, and later pursued her music degree at Berklee College of Music, where she is currently double majoring in Electronic Production and Design and Contemporary Writing and Production.

As a musician, Yujin has garnered significant online recognition for her exceptional songwriting and captivating vocal performances, particularly on prominent Chinese music platforms. By focusing on electronic, rock and pop music she possesses exceptional skills in music arrangement, production, and audio engineering. Additionally, she also has extensive experience in scoring and sound designing for movies and games. Yujin’s artistic endeavors extend to live sound installations and audio-visual composition. Notably, her piece “Constellation” was selected for inclusion in the prestigious “Cosmological Elements” exhibition by China National Astronomy.

As an audio programmer, Yujin has designed software utilizing various programming languages and tools, exemplified by her creation of the “CyberSynth” VST & AU plug-in using Csound Cabbage, the development of “Spectral Shuffler” employing JUCE in C++ and Python, and the construction of the MIDI controller “Light Tree” utilizing Teensy and Bela sensors. In addition, she has mastered MaxMSP, JavaScript, HTML, and Processing, leveraging her technical skills for innovative and creative applications. She has developed game programs and VR experience in Unity and implementing audio using Wwise. For featured work, Yujin has played a key role as a developer in several national projects at Berklee, including ”TeleAbsense“ sound installation with the MIT Media Lab and “Dream Machine” VR experience with artist Nona Hendryx.
